Bosch Sensortec's BMA530 miniature acceleration sensor is specifically designed for compact devices such as wearables requiring the smallest components. Stylish and minimalistic wearables offer little space for powerful components, however, this next-generation accelerometer with an advanced feature set is one of the world's smallest acceleration sensors (1.2 mm x 0.8 mm x 0.55 mm). It is specially designed for compact devices such as wearables and toys requiring less sensor size, especially lower height. BMA530 includes integrated functionalities like a step-counter and generic interrupts for easy use.
Features
- Activity tracking: monitors activities to provide information such as the number of steps taken
- Gesture recognition: triggers special effects like sound or lights in toys and in gaming
- Freefall detection: recognizes the fall of a device and allows the quick backup of data
- Power management: detects when a smartphone is put away and not in use, and when it is picked up again, allowing the system to be put to sleep accordingly to save power
