AGQ500 Series Quarter-Brick DC/DC Converters

ARTESYN / Advanced Energy's AGQ500 series quarter-brick isolated DC/DC converters provide a single, regulated, low noise output. The AGQ500-48S50 has a 50 V/10 A output. It has a telecom input range of 36 V_DC to 75 V_DC and is designed primarily for use with standard 48 V telecommunications equipment supplies. The converter’s main application area is in low-power and remote radio head (RRH) telecommunications applications.

Rated at 500 W and with an ultra-high conversion efficiency of >95% at half load, the converter can operate over an ambient temperature range of -40°C to +85°C while continuing to deliver full power up to a baseplate temperature of +100°C. The output voltage can be trimmed from 25 V_DC to 57 V_DC to meet a broad range of application needs, and there is no minimum load requirement. The conversion technology employs 340 kHz fixed-frequency switching to help minimize external EMI filtering requirements.

Based on a high power density aluminum thermal baseplate construction, it is optimized for conduction-cooled applications. The AGQ500 converter has an installed height of just 0.5 inches (12.7 mm), making it ideal for systems with demanding inter-board spacing requirements.

Standard features include input undervoltage lockout, remote on/off, differential remote sense, and comprehensive protection against overtemperature and output overcurrent or overvoltage conditions.
