Analog Devices' MAX31331 and MAX31334 ultra-low-power RTCs extend battery life

Image of Analog Devices' MAX31331/MAX31334 Ultra-Low-Power Real-Time Clocks (RTC)ADI's MAX31331 and MAX31334 ultra-low-power RTCs are devices that consume ultra-low-power time-keeping current, extending battery life. They support a wide range of crystals with any capacitive loading (CL) spec, which broadens the pool of usable crystals for this device. This device is accessed through an I2C serial interface.

The MAX31331SHLD# and MAX31334SHLD# shield evaluation kits (EV kits) are fully assembled and tested PCBs to evaluate the MAX31331 and MAX31334 ultra-low power, low-cost, RTCs. The shields operate from a single supply (either from USB or an external power supply), and the onboard crystal provides a 32.768 kHz clock signal. The devices are accessed through an I2C serial interface provided by a MAX32625PICO board connected to a PC by a USB port.
