Image of RadCrimp™ Solar Splice with MelniAmphenol’s RadCrimp solar splice with Melni spiral termination technology is a robust DC connector ‎rated to UL 1500 VDC specifications, ‎preventing improper mating from the equation. ‎It eliminates the timely crimping process and the need to buy expensive crimping ‎‎equipment. The RadCrimp is an overall faster and safer solution than the PV connectors of the past. This technology provides a safe ‎and reliable connection the industry needs. Problems encountered in field connections include poor crimps, installation errors, and ‎intermating with different manufacturers’ products. Crimping, by its nature, is very difficult to do correctly. It was Amphenol’s idea to ‎duplicate the success of their MC Series in a solar connector. The Amphenol RadCrimp with Melni Technologies has passed all in-‎house testing for the IEC and UL, including UL’s test that applied 10,000 cycles of lifting a three to four pound weight while under load ‎‎(amperage, voltage, resistance, and temperature).
