Low-Power HCSL ClearClock™ Oscillators

An expansion of the ClearClock product line from Abracon, the HCSL SMD XOs come in standard 3.2 mm x 2.5 mm and 2.5 mm x 2.0 mm package sizes. These XOs exhibit typical supply currents as low as 12 mA to 15 mA.

Originally designed to minimize power consumption associated with traditional HCSL drivers, the low-power HCSL (LP-HCSL) provides additional advantages. These include improved performance in driving lengthy traces, simplified AC coupling, reduced demands on board space, easier routing, and a decrease in the bill of material (BOM) costs. It is crucial to note that an HCSL receiver cannot distinguish between a traditional HCSL driver and an LP-HCSL driver. The LP-HCSL features integrated termination resistors and requires no external components, making it well-suited for PCIe® applications.
