96x 2.54mm Connector Series

3M offers the 96X (960, 961, 963, 966, and 969) series of 2.54 mm (0.100 inch) connectors for board-to-board interconnect applications. This new series of connectors offers a wide variety of stacking options that address the most typical needs for stacking in horizontal, vertical and perpendicular angles, with stack heights to accommodate varying distances between boards.

The 3M board-to-board stacking connector, 96X series provides a high quality, economical solution that utilizes a ten micro inch gold wiping area and includes tube, tray and tape and reel packaging options. The specifications and packaging make them ideal for usage in high volume applications with less stringent requirements for the number of mating cycles and medium length life span. The product range is qualified in accordance with European requirements for IEC performance, class three.

This 96X series board-to-board product family features 12 new product categories of pin strips and boardmount sockets that are available in both one- and two-row format, as well as vertical and right angle through-hole and surface mount configurations. Pin counts range from 2-80 positions depending on the type of product.

The connector bodies are made from PCT thermoplastic material, allowing for high temperature processing in lead-free environments up to 260°C (JEDEC J-STD-020C). The product family is EU RoHS compliant and is labeled in accordance with China marking standard SJ/T 11364-2006.
