451 Series Socket Assemblies and 452 Series Board-Mount Headers

The 451 series socket assemblies and 452 series board-mount headers from 3M feature small packages for minimizing the PCB space and 30 µAu and Au flash plating versions for multiple mate and unmate cycle option levels at different price points.

The 451 series ribbon cable wire-mount socket assembly offers a robust connector in a very small package for a fine pitch that delivers high connection density. It is available with friction latch configurations, enabling increased protection against accidental disconnect when using a box header. An optional strain relief accessory provides additional security to help guard against damage when users pull on a terminated cable.

The 452 series shrouded board-mount header mates with the ribbon cable wire-mount 451 series socket assembly and is designed to maximize design flexibility while minimizing PCB footprint. The 452 series are available with connector options of straight mount with through-hole and SMT configurations and right angle with through-hole and SMT configurations. The standard shrouded header is available with or without ejector latches, allowing the addition of positive latch and ejection functionality with minimal size addition. Tape-and-reel packaging for the SMT version enables use in automated placement applications, and PCB standoffs enable pin-in-paste processing capability. The 452 series is lead-free process capable.
