We Love KiCad, and We Think You’ll Love KiCon 2019
It’s no secret that we are huge fans of the open source EDA software KiCad (see here, here, and here). Which is why DigiKey is proud to be a sponsor of KiCon 2019 April 26-27 in Chicago.
This inaugural conference has been a long-anticipated event for the users here in the United States. There will be some great talks covering a wide array of topics including RF layout, tips-n-tricks in KiCad, multiuser projects, dealing with libraries and footprints, even selling your projects, and many more. You will hear from a handful of the developers including Wayne Stambaugh, the project lead, on what is coming up and where we are at with KiCad today.
Oh, did I mention our very own Reid Landsrud will be giving a talk called, “Building the DigiKey KiCad Library” that discusses how the library come about, some challenges we faced, and where we want to go next?
Additionally, there will be contests, roundtable discussions with the developers, and hands-on demos to deepen knowledge of hardware design and using KiCad.
This will be a great conference to attend if you do any kind of EDA or layout work and might even give you ideas to help with planning your next project.
Not a current user of KiCad? No problem! Attendees will learn general concepts around PCB design, hardware creation, and developing products for the market. Special guests include hardware and software developers from around the world, including members of the core KiCad development team out of CERN in Switzerland.
We will have a crowd of DigiKey folks participating as well, so grab your tickets and get ready for excitement in Chicago for KiCon 2019. We’ll see you there.
