Supplier Success Stories with DigiKey's Marketplace: Siglent

In 2019, DigiKey launched Marketplace to create a repository for engineers, technicians, and general consumers across all industries to find their electronics and technology product needs in one place.

Supplier success story #1: Siglent Technologies began its development in digital oscilloscopes 15 years ago. Today, they are a leader in research and development, engineering, manufacturing, and sales for electronics test and measurement products. We asked Siglent Technologies General Manager Dave Stuart how DigiKey’s Marketplace has helped Siglent reach its 2020 goals.

How has the DigiKey Marketplace helped you grow your business?

“The DigiKey Marketplace has made it easy for many new customers to place orders with Siglent. Because we are a newer company in the T&M market space in North America, many companies do not have Siglent set up as an approved vendor. However, because of DigiKey’s brand recognition and wide product offering, many of these companies already have DigiKey set up in their purchasing department. They can easily place their orders through DigiKey’s Marketplace saving them the time and effort of setting up an additional vendor.”

What growth have you seen since joining Marketplace?

“Siglent has grown significantly in each of the past few years and the Market place was a key contributor to our growth in 2020. The volume of orders continues to increase with many new customers using the Marketplace and many existing Marketplace customers placing follow-on orders because of their positive experience with their first order.”

Has DK provided any international sale opportunities? Or opening up markets/customers that did not exist before?

“Currently we are focusing on just the Marketplace in the US. We may expand to other regions later in 2021.”

What was your experience working with the Marketplace team?

“The entire Marketplace team has been very helpful and responsive from day one. They have helped us expand our offerings and also provided us with helpful suggestions with our Marketplace pages.”

What are the benefits of selling on Marketplace?

“Ease of ordering for our customers and also the brand awareness benefits Siglent receives by partnering with a large well-known distributor like DigiKey.”

What transaction conveniences exist for being a Marketplace supplier?

“The customer has a convenient ordering experience which feeds the portal where we can easily retrieve, fulfill, and track the orders. We can adjust the DigiKey inventory in real-time so that we ensure the product availability is accurate.”
