PayPal and DigiKey: Easy Paying Meets Quick Shipping

I spent my Saturday evening setting up and programming my Raspberry Pi, bread boarding my project, and troubleshooting the things that weren’t working correctly (FYI it was working correctly I just set it up wrong).  Anyway, that feeling of getting something to work (as expected) after coming up with an idea and researching is something everyone should experience.  Satisfied with myself, I called it a night and turned in for the evening. As I’m lying in bed thinking about my successful evening a sudden jolt of firing neurons forms my next project, and I know exactly how to make it work I just need all my parts as soon as possible.

Quick and Easy: Paying with PayPal is easy; using DigiKey gets you your parts quick.

Nothing is more exhilarating than that “a-ha lightbulb” moment.  You can’t control it; it could be 2 A.M. as you’re going to sleep on a Saturday night or 3 P.M. on a Thursday while you’re day dreaming in an “important” meeting.  The real important part is getting your ideas out and making actionable items to complete your design.  Once you have your Bill of Materials (BOM) or parts list, sourcing the components can be a headache.  For instance you might need a Raspberry Pi from Adafruit, a Rainbow HAT from Pimoroni, a sensor from SparkFun, cables, resistors, relays, LEDs, and a breadboard.

I tend to purchase from companies that use PayPal, which I know that the aforementioned suppliers accept.  So I would place three separate orders knowing that I can use my preferred pay method and, since I’m a loyal DigiKey’er, I’d order the additional components using a credit card through DigiKey.  The DigiKey parts arrive next day if I elect to ship them overnight. Hopefully my non-DigiKey ordered items would all arrive within a week and, after reigniting my design spark, I could build my project.

This type of situation is why we at DigiKey are happily announcing the addition of PayPal to our already wide variety of payment options.  PayPal is a leader in secure, flexible, easy payments.  With our addition of PayPal we essentially eliminate the need for multiple shipments from multiple companies for your electronic product needs.  Everything (including Adafruit, Pimoroni, and SparkFun products) can be ordered from DigiKey and shipped overnight so your design spark doesn’t fade.  Regardless of the time of day (or night) when the next big idea hits you, you can rest assured shopping with DigiKey using PayPal will get your parts to you when you need them.  The only problem is figuring out what to do with all your free time since you won’t be searching for vendors that accept PayPal…
