The table shown on this slide compares the MCP3901 (2 ADCs) and MCP3903 (6 ADCs) family functionality with that of other energy measurement ICs available from Microchip. Note that the MCP3903 has a relatively wide dynamic range, PGA gain and communicates to MCUs via the SPI interface. In contrast with the energy measurement ICs, the MCP3903 does not have an active power calculation block. The MCP3901 does have slightly higher accuracy when compared to the MCP3903; -104dB vs. -100dB THD, 109dB vs. 102dB SFDR.
